We went to Badlands National Park on our roadtrip home from our time in the Midwest and I have to say, it was really cool. It reminds me of giant sand castles with grasses and wildflowers around as you hike.
The visitor center is AWESOME as they have a great video about the natural history there and, even better, working paleontologists you can observe and talk to!!
There were so many swallows flying in and out of this little caved area!
In the visitor's center there was this amazing large painting by Larry Eifert that really highlights the flora and fauna of the park. We ended up buying a poster of it for our home.
Also in the visitor's center was the lab with paleontologists working on fossils found in the park!
Fossils with a gold star were found in the park by park visitors!
