It’s no secret I love making my own decorations for holidays. I’ve made wreaths, paper flowers, potholders.. With my recent quilts I have made I saw a bunch of neat Halloween material at the fabric store ( I love Pioneer Quilts here in Portland. They’re in an old house that’s fun to visit and have a HUGE selection) and I thought quilting a Halloween throw would be a fun way to decorate my living room for fall. We don’t have much of a front yard to decorate, so our living room gets the most attention. It was also an excuse to use batik fabrics again.
Cory is always my favorite model. Here you can see the soft flannel backing material. It makes the blanket extra heavy and cozy.
Post-wash crinkle is the BEST! I do not prewash material before I quilt it as I want it to shrink and get crinkly. I use a bunch of color catchers and say a little prayer to minimize color bleed with all the batiks.
*Edit* - Since posting I made a pair of Halloween pillows with matching backs to go with the quilt! They look so cute together, so I had to update with pics.
