Most of our Christmases are spent with our friends, a couple who live nearby, where we eat together, exchange gifts, and spend the day talking and playing with the dog. This year one of the gifts from our friend was this kit to make a model- a miniature bookstore in great detail. It was called “Eternal Bookstore “ and had laser-cut printed wood sheets, LED lights, plastic pieces for clear windows, instructions and printed pages to be cut to make into books, papers, posters, the rug and some mail that goes into the shop. It was unlike any of the models Cory had done so far and far removed from anything I’ve done. I’m not always keen on kits as I have so many projects going on or planned all the time that to add in another out of my norm sometimes means thinking on it for years. This was different and came at a great time. My grandma passed on December 30th and Cory had off work through January second, so we started it up and worked on it each evening for a few nights. It was a nice thing to occupy my thoughts when evenings can be a time to think too much! I’d seen these advertised where the model is meant to fit in a bookcase and thought for our house we could put in with our dvds to be seen, and I just love it.
I’m lucky to have such thoughtful friends!
