Between stocking my new web store and Lady Fern in Parkdale, I have been working on a ton of new cutouts with Cory. He had set me up with 6 buffalo to work with, so when I got started I requested more animal variety. He got to work. I keep a folder of templates we have made and we use those to make new frames. Cory sometimes projects a sketch to make it larger and he does all the frames on his scrollsaw. They are certainly a labor of love and a fun collaboration between us.
As always, trying to hurry and snap a few pictures of work before it’s out the door and the lighting doesn’t seem to cooperate. This buffalo above is the same one as the finished one at the top, I am just posting it twice so you can see the painting better in this lighting.
This raven is one of our new silhouettes.
This is another painting of Yellowstone’s Lamar Valley. I may have to post about why I love painting that place so much. Isn’t it just obvious though?
Also Lamar Valley, I mean, come on! It’s so ideal for painting.
This guy is based off of my being enamored with the Milky Way ever since first seeing it camping in Carson.
Our other new cut out shape, the wolf, and probably my current favorite. Painting is a view from standing up on a look out over the Columbia River Gorge at Latourell Falls.
These above are all currently available at Lady Fern in Parkdale, OR. As you see there are only 3 of the 6 buffalo mentioned pictured, the rest will be going to my web store!
Below: A look at some upcoming new shapes for upcoming work!!
I’m obsessed with this wolf. I might make myself one for Christmas.
