Easter, a year ago, we went to Cannon Beach to hike at Ecola State park to get pictures for me to paint a large panorama. While we were driving through town we noticed several domesticated rabbits on the loose- so many I had to look it up on Google. As it turns out, someone let loose some rabbits around Easter back in 1982 and people have added since. The website said it wasn’t good for the rabbits or the natural environment (they are trying to capture and spay the ones they can), but with that much cuteness we go on a bunny hunt every time we end up in Cannon Beach. We counted over 30 this last time and took photos of a few. It’s wild to see what should be pet rabbits everywhere in this little beach town.
Painting update- I am working on the trees and this part always takes me a long time. I want to stay true to the general arrangement of the trees in the scene and to their type and overall appearance. All of those tiny bits mean tiny brushes and large amounts of time. It’s coming along though!
We went on a wildflower hike again this weekend and it felt like winter on top of the hill. The views were pretty incredible though.
