Canyonlands National Park is thirty miles outside of Moab, Utah, and in my experience, far less crowded than Moab’s nearest park, Arches. Canyonlands looks something like a Western movie set, so of course I have a few pictures saved in my to- paint folder. I highly recommend checking out this park if you are able, and remember to be prepared for heat if you are there in summer. There is little shade and the heat can be pretty intense. The landscape is one carved by the Colorado River and Green River and is full of wild rock formations, from pinnacles and arches to the striped rock layers of the canyons themselves.
