I am often asked if we go on different trails each time we hike or if we have ones we frequent. We definitely have favorites and while finding new hikes is something I am always on the lookout for, repeating the same ones doesn’t mean a repeat experience. We hiked the same trail Sunday as we did two weeks ago and had vastly different views and weathers. Two weeks ago was chilly and foggy and made the wildflowers brilliant and Sunday was sunny and warm with views that felt like they went on forever. It is a strenuous hike with a lot of elevation gain and around 11 miles so it is a good workout that gets easier with practice. I will say hiking in fog can be very disorienting and so you can get lost very easily. We have hiked on this trail so many times that we went ahead with our hike, but make sure you stick to the trail and turn back if you need.
Some of my favorite art has been from pictures taken hiking at this place. Getting familiar with a spot can also lead to inspiration!
