I have a new commission on my desk so am sharing progress. A customer really loved the view of Mt Hood I had painted before but wanted something larger. I am using a photo of the same place, from (I believe) a different time (I have been there and taken too many pictures) and making it 18”x24”instead of it’s original much smaller size (pictured below). It allows for some more detail of Mt Hood which is fun and this time I am using my Daniel Smith watercolors which are really beautiful to paint with. My original was mostly Kuretake which have been a go-to for me.
The watercolor I did some years ago that my customer was inspired by.
The photo I am using (maybe the original?) - This time I am cropping it in a bit more, not putting the trail in.
