Rainy season is upon us in the PNW and the days have gotten really short. One place I like to go this time of year is Wildwood Nature Park off 26 near Mt Hood. I like to hike the trails, walk the boardwalk over the wetlands and along the river. The fish window is fun to watch the salmon lifecycle and plaques in the park tell you when to expect what fish. You can really see the seasonal changes take place in the park as the rains come in and the water levels rise. It’s rarely crowded and is a good place to take people of all hiking levels as the trails are short and you can easily do a little or a lot (especially as this park connects to some National Forest trails).
