Olympic National Park is HUGE. It covers a large chunk of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington, and has snow-capped mountains, Pacific beaches, rainforest, rivers, with little road access except from the edges. We have been to Hurricane Ridge, a popular spot that leads to many mountainous hikes and even more mountain views, Lake Crescent to Marymere Falls, the Hoh Rainforest, Sol Duc Falls, and Staircase, a section of the park that takes you along the Staircase Rapids of the North Fork Skokomish River. You may recognize some of these paintings from forest scenes I have painted, and I foresee painting more from this park in the future. (Staircase was named for a staircase that used to exist to get over a bluff in the area, per nps.gov. ) Sol Duc Falls is supposed to be the most beautiful waterfall in the park, and after going I can say it’s the prettiest we have seen there!

And our one stop looking over Ruby Beach as it was getting dark and we needed to get home!
