I’ve started a large painting of Grand Teton from a photo I took on a trip there a couple of years ago. The painting is 36”x48” acrylic on birch panel. This post is an update on my progress!

If you’ve been on my blog before you know I love hiking and I love flowers.. So wildflower hikes are a great way the two intersect. This place has been our favorite we have found- and today was the first we have hiked it in such cloudy, windy weather.

Sometime after moving into her new house my sister requested some fruit paintings for her dining room, I have finally obliged. She had sent me examples of different styles that all had lots of color and were somewhat leaning toward pop art. She said she knew she wanted apples and strawberries, but the rest was up to me. Schreiner’s Iris Gardens are a new favorite for me since we found out about them. I had no idea irises came in so many different colors or that they could smell so good! They have different colors of lupine, columbine and a couple types of alliums that complement the irises really well. It is a magical place and as they are a farm you can order bulbs and create your own fairy garden at home! You can visit Schreiner's Iris Gardens at 3625 Quinaby Rd NE, Salem, OR 97303 in May when they have their garden open. Their gift shop has beautiful bouquets and iris-themed items for sale.
