My latest large landscape is up in its home at Agger Chiropractic Clinic off NE Burnside and 28th in the Trolley Building. I have done all of the art in their lobby and am proud to have added this piece to their collection.

Silver Falls State Park is home to the Trail of Ten-a hiking trail of ten waterfalls on a 7 1/2-8 mi loop.

We have had some solid animal shapes created by our frame-making, so this project was a prototype in trying to use one of our bears.

Schreiner’s Iris Gardens are a new favorite for me since we found out about them. I had no idea irises came in so many different colors or that they could smell so good! They have different colors of lupine, columbine and a couple types of alliums that complement the irises really well. It is a magical place and as they are a farm you can order bulbs and create your own fairy garden at home! You can visit Schreiner's Iris Gardens at 3625 Quinaby Rd NE, Salem, OR 97303 in May when they have their garden open. Their gift shop has beautiful bouquets and iris-themed items for sale.

After recently embroidering The Starry Night using a pattern I wanted to see if I was able to make my own design from a photo.

Why paper flowers? They last a long time, you can get really creative, and you can make flowers that you couldn’t have naturally. That last bit was the inspiration for this post. The sun has been out this weekend and it feels like spring (though I am not convinced more winter isn’t on its way) so spring flowers have been on my mind, specifically Western Trillium.

My friend got me an embroidery kit of Starry Night for my birthday from a shop on Etsy. I really liked how it turned out and I had a lot of fun making it, so I thought I would share.

Hello! Hope you are staying warm out there, and incase you aren’t- I have a craft that may help. Our house we rent is rather drafty, and we can feel cold air coming in from under the doors. A while back I made door snakes to block the drafts and they’ve been doing a great job!

I think the amount of people going to a place gives false security that nothing really bad could happen. Places like the Columbia River Gorge are wild though and the weather and terrain can be a dangerous combo, especially if you aren’t prepared or giving it serious consideration. I wanted to write this post as a reminder going into this new year for all of you who promised yourselves new adventures to do so safely and to be cognizant of your surroundings.
